ABOUT ME
As a filmmaker who has embraced both American and my native Korean culture, it is through video production that I seek to bridge cultural gaps and promote diversity between my two homes. I see the power of video and visual narratives as vital for uniting a global audience.
THE NEW YORK TIMES
One of my former students happened to be William Rhoden, a veteran sports writer at The New York Times. We quickly formed a friendship, and soon established an internship program where Brooklyn College students would shoot video news reports with Mr. Rhoden. These videos were then posted to The New York Times website as part of their “Sports of the Times” segment.
TEACHING
Over 500 students are enrolled in Brooklyn College’s Television and Radio Department. As Education Coordinator for New Media and Digital Technology, I ensure our post-production facilities are equipped with professional software such as the Final Cut and Adobe suites.
In July 2014, I successfully led Brooklyn College’s first Study Abroad in South Korea program in collaboration with Dongguk University in Seoul. Our students worked with Korean artists and students on video productions, studied the Korean language, and toured several television networks including SBS, JTBC, and MBC.

In 2011, I published Professional Editing with Apple Final Cut Pro 7, the first Korean textbook on Apple’s nonlinear editing software. My series of Final Cut Pro books are required texts in universities throughout Korea and are top-ranking books in computer graphics.
