RECENT WORK: Urban Projection Series

Video Projection Director

With the support of New York State for the Arts, I completed three large-scale public space projections across NYC, transforming city landmarks into powerful storytelling platforms. These projections featured live audience portraits alongside filmed portraits of refugees and immigrants, creating a visual dialogue on identity, displacement, and belonging.

Performance Schedule:
September 27 – Washington Square Park, Manhattan
October 18 – Pier 45, Hudson Park, Manhattan
October 25 – Brooklyn Bridge Park, Brooklyn

Light became both a medium and a message—symbolizing hope for those seeking a future and a reminder for those who have already secured one. Projecting onto diverse urban surfaces presented unique technical challenges, from navigating ambient light and uneven architecture to precise mapping across large-scale facades. Using two Panasonic laser projectors (PT-RZ120), specialty zoom lenses (ET-DLE350, ET-DLE450), and mapping software (Resolume & TouchDesigner), I shaped light into an ephemeral yet striking form of digital graffiti.

THE NEW YORK TIMES

For three years, from 2013 to 2016, I had the incredible opportunity to work in The New York Times sports section alongside veteran journalist William Rhoden. During this time, I covered major sporting events, including Super Bowl Media Day, as well as season openers for New York and New Jersey teams across the NBA, NFL, and MLB. I was immersed in the fast-paced world of sports journalism, capturing compelling stories that highlighted the passion, drama, and cultural impact of the athletic world.

Beyond reporting, this experience deepened my expertise in sports media production and expanded my skills in visual storytelling. Working closely with Mr. Rhoden, I gained invaluable hands-on experience producing video news reports, which were featured on The New York Times website as part of the Sports of the Times segment. This collaboration refined my ability to craft engaging sports narratives, blending journalistic insight with dynamic media production.
